3PAR NAMES NORTH AMERICAN COMMERCIAL REGIONAL SALES VP

FREMONT, CA, August 21, 2007

3PAR®, the leading global provider of utility storage, announced today the appointment of RJ Weigel as Regional Vice President of North American Commercial Sales. Weigel brings to 3PAR twenty years of senior sales experience at Network Appliance and Cisco Systems and a track record of direct sales management success.

Weigel will oversee 3PAR's North American Commercial Sales organization, responsible for overall sales execution and customer satisfaction. In this role, he will lead 3PAR's efforts to grow its revenues, customer base, and sales organization. Weigel will report to 3PAR's Vice President of Worldwide Sales, Jim Dawson, and will continue to work from his current location in Dallas, Texas.

Weigel joins 3PAR from Network Appliance, where he served as Central Area Vice President of Sales. During his five and a half years at NetApp®, Weigel led a very aggressive expansion effort in the Central U.S., contributing to significant year-over-year revenue growth in that area for the past two years. Weigel also executed a plan with NetApp's professional services leadership team that resulted in the substantial growth in consulting services offerings in the 2007 fiscal year.

Prior to NetApp, Weigel spent seven years at Cisco Systems in a number of different leadership positions, including Operations Director for the Southwest. In this role he expanded Cisco's footprint in the Commercial Enterprise market space. Under his leadership many of his teams were able to achieve growth in excess of 50% year over year. Weigel was also chosen many times as the featured field speaker for the Cisco New Hire Training program.

Weigel, who resides in the Dallas, Texas area, holds a BA in Communications from the University of Iowa.

"RJ Weigel was our top choice on a short list of extremely qualified candidates. RJ's industry experience combined with his effective sales leadership and a proven track record of driving high-growth business is invaluable," said Jim Dawson, Vice President of Worldwide Sales for 3PAR. "We believe that RJ is joining 3PAR at an ideal time and that he will add significant value to our sales organization--we couldn't be more pleased."
