| Description: | ASOCS introduces a new paradigm for mobile consumer electronics and handset development: a single baseband chip supporting multiple wireless standards concurrently and designed from the start to support integration of new and additional standards as they become requirements for mainstream devices. ASOCS' MP100 MultiComms processor runs several state-of-the-art wireless communication protocols and allows operation of three different standards concurrently. The key is ASOCS ModemX™ core: a software-reconfigurable processor supporting a variety of communications algorithms (modems). For the first time, it is possible to provide a seamless user experience across multiple wireless networks. By developing product lines based on the ASOCS MultiComms platform, mobile terminal vendors can offer an abundance of MultiComm services while significantly reducing power consumption. Using ASOCS' single-chip solution also reduces both bill of material (BOM) and R&D design efforts. ASOCS’ MultiComm processor offers flexible integration models: it can be used either as a complete terminal processor or as a communication companion chip enabling smooth upgradeability to any existing and future wireless applications such as LTE, mobile WiMax and HSPDA/HSUPA. Target Applications: l Portable Navigation Devices l Portable Gaming Devices l Portable Media Players l Cellular & Smart Phones l Notebooks, Mobile Internet Devices, and UMPCs |
