The AP provides simultaneous dual-band Wi-Fi® access with non-disruptive RF and security monitoring. Virtual Controller APs collaborate to provide a Wireless LAN (WLAN) that offers enterpriseclass security and performance. The AP was designed specifi cally to meet the demands of today and tomorrow’s small and medium enterprise (SME) Wi-Fi networks. The collaboration between Virtual Controllers APs provides a scalable network to accommodate the accelerating numbers of Wi-Fi voice and video devices that demand world-class roaming, load management, and quality of service, all at signifi cantly lower costs than today’s competing technologies. Each AP incorporates a dedicated third radio that provides a non-disruptive interference and WLAN security sensor. The dedicated third radio also acts as a spectrum analyzer, detecting other interference sources such as cordless telephones and microwave ovens. This combination eliminates the need to purchase a separate, costly RF monitoring solution. Virtual Controller APs support AirMaestro’s unique WLAN architecture with a comprehensive automation system and a software-based virtual controller that eliminates the need for a separate hardware controller to manage the WLAN. This breakthrough innovation provides superior Wi-Fi network solutions at signifi cantly lower cost and easier management than existing alternatives. The Virtual Controller Access Point includes rogue AP detection, notifi cation, and mitigation, automatically closing security breaches caused by unsecured and unauthorized APs on your network. State-of-the-art encryption and authentication provide enterprise-class security for authorized users. The Virtual Controller AP is designed to work with the AirMaestro WLAN management software that provides remote and centralized WLAN monitoring and management.
