Cardiva was established to develop a new standard of care in vascular closure for patients undergoing catheterization procedures. Cardiva’s flagship product, the Boomerang™ ClosureWire Vascular Closure Device, provides safe, efficient, and effective closure of the arterial puncture site following catheterization. The Boomerang ClosureWire Vascular Closure System is approved in Canada, has the CE Mark in Europe, and has recently received 510k clearance from the FDA in October, 2004. The Boomerang ClosureWire technique creates a site-specific compression between the inside of the arteriotomy and just outside the tissue tract, resulting in a targeted internal compression of both the arteriotomy and tract. The device is deployed, which creates immediate hemostasis and a secure seal in the cath lab in under 30 seconds.
