Date Launched:01/2008
Description:The wireless network node
SenzaBlocks are wireless network nodes, which can be integrated with almost every sensor, instrument or actuator to transmit their data or control signals wirelessly.
At the same time, SenzaBlocks are small computers, which can take over tasks like calibration, linearization and interpretation of control signals. They consume extremely small amounts of energy and can survive for years with a battery.
Each SenzaBlock automatically searches for neighboring network nodes and finds the best transmission path. It optimizes transmission regarding robustness and energy consumption, monitors connection quality and modifies transmission paths in case of better performance elsewhere. Each SenzaBlock can receive and forward data from other devices.
This is how the self-organizing and self-healing capabilities of SenzaNet are achieved. Depending on application, it might make sense to add additional repeaters (SenzaHub) to the network to make it even more robust and reduce power consumption of individual nodes further.
SenzaBlock either comes as a ready-made product with built-in interfaces to connect your sensors and devices or as a highly-integrated module that can be integrated into your products.
Interfaces for sensors and devices
Linearization and calibration
Battery-operation with long lifetime
Pre-set thresholds for triggering alarms
