Dr. Hossein Nivi is an accomplished executive, engineer, and academic with an expertise in leadership development, lean thinking, and applied systems thinking. As an executive, he has built one of the top leadership development systems in the world, transformed Ford’s plant training model, was the Dean of the Ford Design Institute and co-established two globally competitive universities. He is currently the Dean of University of Detroit Mercy’s Business School as well as the founder of a corporate training company.
Mitch Lasky has spent more than two decades in the mobile gaming, new media and interactive entertainment business. Prior to joining Benchmark Capital, Mitch served as executive vice president of Mobile and Online at Electronic Arts.
Prior to JAMDAT, Mitch served as general manager of eCompanies Wireless LLC, an Internet business incubator. He also spent five years at Activision, most recently serving as executive vice president of Worldwide Studios. In that role he was responsible for product development, business development and global operations. Earlier in his career, Mitch practiced law, worked at the Walt Disney Company and started a massively multiplayer online game company.
Mitch is on the board of EngineYard, Grockit and Vivox.
Education: Mitch received his Bachelor of Administration degree in History and Literature from Harvard College and earned a J.D. from the University of Virginia School of Law.
Babak is currently an advisor at Songbird and Grockit. His past work with startups includes serving as Vice President of Songbird and co-inventing the technology of Kovio. His past work in venture capital includes serving as an Entrepreneur-in-Residence at Bessemer Venture Partners and serving as a consultant to Atlas Venture. He is currently on leave from MIT’s Ph.D. program where he also received his B.S. and M.Eng. degrees. He has been published in the journal Science and has two U.S. Patents. His blog is nivi.com/blog.
