Useful cousin of flash mobbing complete with purpose, strangers and "coordinated spontaneity."

Who? We allow users to post public invites describing who they want to network with, we notify them of any acceptances which they can approve or decline for any reason and thus control who they will meet and whether the meeting occurs. We are not aware of anyone else providing this free service that allows users to expand their network of contacts through face to face meetings. There are similar sites, but we believe we provide a unique service that is patent protected.

We've recently added the ability for users and the MW team to flag invites that are not appropriate. It's a free service so there will always be unattractive invites but we are putting some controls in place to reduce the problem.

We are just restarting our promotional efforts under the new name. We'll also soon add features to guide users to create better invites and improved profiles. We also need to put in place some quality control measures for both invites and acceptances. In the end, it's up to users to post interesting invites and other users (with interesting profiles) to accept those invites. We have work ahead of us but believe the site will become a useful tool for offline business or social networking.

MW is just starting, free, laser focused on allowing users to meet who they want to meet for business or social purposes and is patent protected. Meetup is an event site for organizing groups. Who else are you referring to?
