A college-preparatory and therapeutic boarding program located in upstate Montana, the Monarch School offers a challenging and comprehensive curriculum supplemented by one-on-one tutoring, vocational and outdoor education, creative arts training, and personal development coaching. Licensed by the State of Montana’s Board of Private Alternative Adolescent Residential or Outdoor Programs, the Monarch School maintains affiliations with such leading organizations as the National Independent Private Schools Association and the National Council for Private School Accreditation. Community-oriented entrepreneur Patrick McKenna established the program in 2001 to offer an alternative to adolescents not comfortable or able to succeed in traditional academic settings.

In founding the Monarch School, Patrick McKenna sought to create an institution that elevated character building and ethics training to the same level as academics and social development.
