Phanfare allows users to store photos and videos in a application on the desktop. It then syncs the media automatically with the web. Since they are stored online, this allows for users to have access to their collection of videos and photos wherever they go. No other service out there does this for both videos and photos. Phanfare also have a focus on privacy and private sharing among friends and family. Media automatically uploaded to the web is not available to the public. Akin to SmugMug, Phanfare converts the videos to Flash allowing them to be easily viewed online; users can also download them in their original form.
