Quentin Gallivan, President/CEO
Quentin Gallivan is a long-time technology industry veteran with over 20 years of executive operational experience in IT and security. Most recently, Gallivan was CEO at Postini, which became the market leader for secure messaging and compliance solutions delivered on-demand and as Software-as-a-Service (SaaS). Under Gallivan’s leadership, Postini grew to over 10 million user subscribers and became highly profitable with customers in 25 countries and a 97% renewal rate.
Previous to Postini, Gallivan was the executive VP of Sales and Field Operations and was responsible for the distribution strategy, execution and management of the $500M Security Services division of VeriSign. Before VeriSign, he was VP and general manager of both the Asia Pacific and Latin America regions for Netscape, and held various executive roles at GE based in Asia and the United States.
He attended the University of California, Los Angeles from 1976 through 1980.

Doug McLean, VP Marketing
Mr. McLean most recently served as Vice President of Corporate Marketing at Postini, a leading provider of enterprise email anti-spam and anti-virus perimeter solutions. Prior to Postini, he served as Vice President for Launch Pad. He has also held management positions at Xerox Corp., Apple Computer, and Hewlett-Packard. Mr. McLean has a B.S. and M.S. in Industrial Engineering from Stanford University as well as an MBA from Dartmouth College-Amos Tuck School.

Andy Bechtolsheim
Andy Bechtolsheim, co-founder of Sun Microsystems, Inc. and employee number one, returns to Sun as Chief Architect and Senior Vice President, Network Systems organization and is also a member of Sun's executive management team. In his new role, Bechtolsheim will drive the rapid productization of next generation network server technologies.
Bechtolsheim brings with him over 25 years of Network Computing knowledge and expertise. He was a co-founder of Sun Microsystems where he held a variety of roles including Vice President of Technology and Chief Architect of Sun's highly successful workstation product line. He invented the "Stanford University Network workstation" that eventually became the Sun-1 Workstation and was instrumental in launching other successful Sun products, including the SparcStation¨ 1.
Bechtolsheim left Sun in 1995 to found Granite Systems, a Gigabit Ethernet start-up company, that was acquired by Cisco Systems in 1996. Andy became Vice President of Engineering and later Vice President General Manager of Cisco's Gigabit Systems business which developed the Catalyst 4000 family, the industry's highest volume modular Ethernet switching platform.
Bechtolsheim returns to Sun via the Kealia, Inc. acquisition, a company which he co-founded to develop advanced server technology.
Bechtolsheim received a MS in computer engineering from Carnegie Mellon University in 1976 and he was a PhD student in Computer Science and Electrical Engineering at Stanford University from 1977 to 1982. He has been honored with a Fulbright scholarship, a German National Merit Foundation scholarship, the Stanford Entrepreneur Company of the year award, the Smithsonian Leadership Award for Innovation and is a member of the National Academy of Engineering.
John Johnston
John R. Johnston co-founded August Capital in 1995. Prior to co-founding August Capital, John served as a general partner with two venture capital firms, Technology Venture Investors (TVI) since 1988 and Hambrecht & Quist Venture Partners (H&Q) from 1983 to 1988. During his venture career, John has invested in more than 25 companies, serving on more than 20 boards of directors. His high-technology venture investments include eShop (Microsoft), Frame Technology, Intuit, Insignia Solutions, Logic Automation (Synopsys), Saros (FileNet), Sybase, Visio and Xilinx. In addition to his U.S. venture capital experience, John worked in Hong Kong for five years at a privately held venture capital firm, Inter-Asia Management Co., Ltd. (IAM). While at IAM, he participated in such successful investments as McDonald's Restaurants (HK) Ltd. and Ikea Furniture (HK) Ltd., and was active in the management of several portfolio companies. John received an AB in English from Princeton University and an MBA from Harvard University. He is a past director of the Western Association of Venture Capitalists.
Michael Sophie
Mike Sophie has served as a director and chair of the audit committee since 2004. Mike joined UTStarcom as chief financial officer and vice president of finance in August 1999. Prior to joining UTStarcom, Mike held executive positions at P-Com, Inc. from August 1993 to August 1999 including vice president of finance, chief financial officer and group president. From 1989 through 1993, Mike was vice president of finance at Loral Fairchild Corporation. Prior to that, he held various positions in finance and accounting at Avantek, Inc., Signetics Corporation, and Fairchild Semiconductor. Mike holds an M.B.A. degree from the University of Santa Clara and a B.S. degree in Business Administration from California State University, Chico.
