Steve Erbst, VP Sales

Steve Erbst is responsible for direct sales at Egnyte. Steve brings more than 20 years of senior management experience in the leadership and management of global and domestic sales operations, generating over $350 million in revenue. Prior to Egnyte, Steve held management positions at RSA Security (acquired by EMC), Network Chemistry (acquired by Aruba), and Sana Security (acquired by AVG Technologies). Most recently he was director of worldwide sales for Cisco’s collaboration products after their $215M acquisition of PostPath.

Victor Chang, VP Engineering

PostPath Names Victor Chang as Vice President of Engineering
MOUNTAIN VIEW, CA – Tuesday, February 13, 2007 – PostPath, creator of the industry’s only email and collaboration server that offers enterprises a drop-in alternative to Exchange™, today announced that it has named Victor Chang as its vice president of engineering. Chang, who has more than 20 years of experience in software development, is responsible for expanding PostPath’s engineering organization He will report directly to CEO Duncan Greatwood.

Chang has over 20 years experience in networking, security, and enterprise infrastructure, including R&D, general management, and strategic planning. Prior to joining PostPath, he was vice president of engineering at Infoblox, a leading provider of network identity appliances. At RSA Security (later acquired by EMC), Chang grew the engineering organization from six people to more than 180. He held a variety of executive positions at RSA Security, including vice president engineering, general manager developer solution group, and vice president technology. Chang has also held engineering and management positions at Apple Computer, Tsunami, Intel, and Xerox. Chang holds a BSEE from National Taiwan University and an MS in computer engineering from Syracuse University.

Bob Lisbonne

Prior to joining Pixazza in 2008, Bob led early stage investments as a general partner of two top-tier venture capital firms: Matrix Partners (2001-2008) and Crosspoint Venture Partners (1999-2001). His current and former board seats include Access360 (acquired by IBM), Consera (acquired by HP), eHealth.com (NASDAQ: EHTH), PostPath (acquired by Cisco), Tealeaf (private), and Xign (acquired by JPMorgan).

Prior to working as a venture capitalist, Bob spent his career as an operating executive at a number of software and Internet companies. Bob joined Netscape Communications in 1995 and served as senior vice president and general manager of its browser division. He led Netscape’s famous “browser wars,” while managing all engineering and product management for browsers, email clients, and HTML editors that garnered 100 million users and pioneered the widespread consumer adoption of the Internet.

In 1998 Bob embraced open source and launched mozilla.org, which represented the first time a major commercial software company adopted an open source strategy. Today Mozilla continues to enjoy considerable success with its Firefox browser. Bob currently serves on the board of directors of the Mozilla Foundation.

Prior to Netscape, Bob was vice president of marketing at Collabra, whose online collaboration software won numerous industry awards. While at Apple Computer's Claris subsidiary, Bob launched and directed the ClarisWorks product line. In the 1980s, he worked as an investment banker at Goldman Sachs, advising Silicon Valley technology companies on IPOs and mergers and acquisitions.

Bob attended Stanford University, where he earned MBA, MA, and BA degrees, and did graduate studies in Computer Science.

Peter Goettner

Peter Goettner is a general partner at Worldview Technology Partners. He has over 15 years of operational experience, including nearly a decade at the senior management level. At Worldview, he focuses on helping early stage companies develop and execute their growth strategies.
Prior to Worldview, Pete was the co-founder and CEO of DigitalThink, a leading e-learning company. At DigitalThink, he led the company through a successful initial public offering, grew revenues to an annualized rate of over $60 million in six years, and pioneered a hosted model for delivering corporate training content that revitalized the formerly stagnant industry. Before founding DigitalThink, Pete ran the marketing and business development groups at Knowledge Revolution (acquired by MSC Software) and Silicon Microstructures. Previously, he was a consultant in Accenture's supply chain management group. Pete earned an M.B.A. from the Haas School of Business at UC Berkeley and a B.S. degree in Electrical Engineering from the University of Michigan.

Joseph Horowitz

Joe joined JAFCO Ventures as the Managing General Partner in 2003, bringing 25 years of experience working with emerging growth companies as a venture capitalist, business advisor and operating executive. Prior to joining JAFCO Ventures, Joe was Chairman & CEO of Geocast Network Systems. Before Geocast, he formed ICON Venture Advisors where he actively consulted with and served on the boards of a number of early-stage businesses, aiding them in their strategic partnering, management and financing initiatives. Prior to ICON, Joe spent ten years with U.S. Venture Partners (USVP). Joe began his venture capital career in 1978 at Exxon Enterprises, the venture capital arm of Exxon Corporation. He received his MBA from the Wharton Graduate School of Business and earned his Bachelor of Arts degree in economics at Columbia University.

As an investor and/or board member he has been involved with Classroom Connect (acquired by Harcourt), Cortina Systems, Encompass (acquired by Yahoo!), Gymboree (GYMB), Microtune (TUNE), Netsys Technologies (acquired by Cisco), Oodle, Proofpoint, SiTime, StarSight Telecast (acquired by Gemstar) and Sun Microsystems (SUNW).

Tom Mawhinney

Tom Mawhinney joined JAFCO in 2003 as a general partner, bringing a 15-year background in the technology industry as both a venture capitalist and an operating executive. Although an experienced entrepreneur in the software sector, Tom has a wide range of technology investing experience and a very grounded view of the process of building great companies. At JAFCO, Tom is actively involved with The 41st Parameter, Aperto Networks, ClairMail, Conformia Software, Groundwork Open Source, Mimosa Systems, Neterion, Solidcore Systems, Voltage Security and Xambala. Prior investments while at JAFCO include Brion Technologies (acquired by ASML), DATAllegro (acquired by Microsoft), Infinera (INFN) and PostPath (acquired by Cisco Systems).

Before joining JAFCO Ventures, Tom was with Canaan Partners, an early-stage venture capital firm with $2 billion under management. Prior to joining Canaan, Tom co-founded and served as President and COO of North Systems, a venture-backed software company that he helped manage for five years. Tom first developed his skills as a technology investor and entrepreneur during the five years he spent with Summit Partners, a venture capital firm with over $6 billion under management today.

Prior investments Tom was involved with at Canaan and Summit include AmeriPath (PATH), HAHT Commerce (Global eXchange Services), IntelliQuest (IQST), Microbank Software (SunGard Data Systems), Pediatrix Medical Group (PDX), Powerwave Technologies (PWAV) and SteriGenics International (STER).

Tom received his MBA from the Stanford Graduate School of Business and graduated with honors with a Bachelor of Arts degree from Harvard College.
