Waikit Lau, Co-Founder, President

Waikit has extensive experience building emerging media businesses and technologies. Prior to co-founding ScanScout, Waikit was the Director of Strategy and Business Development at Scientific Atlanta (a division of Cisco) where he helped lead product strategy for next-generation media delivery platforms. Before Scientific Atlanta, he was an investor at Bessemer Venture Partners, investing in and working with early-stage technology companies. Prior to serving as a VC, Waikit co-founded Photo.net, one of the largest online photo-databases and served as its VP of Product and Business Development. He has also consulted to the CTO and COO of Technology at Merrill Lynch in the technology strategy and operation areas. Waikit holds Bachelors degrees in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science and Finance from MIT and an MBA from the Harvard Business School. He also serves on Harvard University’s Digital Community and Social Networking Advisory Group. He is based in Boston, MA.

Steven Lee, Co-Founder & CTO

As Co-Founder and CTO of ScanScout, Steven leads the vision and growth of the company's technology operations. He is passionate about solving tough problems with practical business value. Before starting ScanScout, Steven held technical leadership positions at Aliaswire, Bose, and SpeechWorks (now Nuance). Steve received his M.Eng. and S.B. from MIT.

Bill Day, CEO

Bill is a notable digital media veteran renowned for building interactive businesses that bring value to the industry. In his role as CEO of ScanScout, Bill leads the company’s strategic development and business operations.

Prior to joining ScanScout, Bill was the Chief Media Officer of Marchex, a leader in local consumer search and a leading local merchant ad platform. Bill also served as CEO for MeMedia, the behavioral targeting firm. Other career achievements include holding the titles of CEO and President for About.com, the largest content destination on the Internet. Bill co-founded the company in June 1996, led its success from inception to the company's IPO and eventual sale to Primedia in 2000. Bill also served in a variety of senior leadership roles at Prodigy, responsible for building many of the online services in common use today.

Bill received his B.S. in mechanical engineering from Yale University, and his M.B.A. with distinction from The Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania. He is based in New York City.
