Experienced Business Development Professional to Direct Strategic Partnerships and Alliances Expanding Sendmail’s Open Platform for Trusted Messaging
Emeryville, Calif. – December 21, 2006 – Sendmail, Inc., the leading global provider of trusted messaging, has named Stephanie Nevin to the role of Vice President of Business Development. In this new role, Ms. Nevin will foster and direct Sendmail’s partnering and strategic alliance relationships in the areas of technology, OEM, and system integration.
Ms. Nevin brings more than 15 years of technology industry experience to Sendmail, including a recent business development role with LRN, a leading Ethics and Compliance program provider, where she targeted Fortune 1000 companies in the western U.S. to adopt, design and implement compliance and ethics programs.

Prior to LRN, Ms. Nevin was Director of Worldwide Field Alliances at Sendmail where she developed channels for the launch of the Sentrion Email Gateway Security Appliance and expanded Sendmail's OEM partnerships. Previously, she held Sales and Business Development positions at companies including FaceTime Communications, eGain Communications, Inference and Autodesk.
Ms. Nevin holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Business Administration from the California State University at Chico.

Sendmail Appoints Donald J. Massaro as President and CEO
Silicon Valley Veteran Drives Next Generation of Secure Messaging and Compliance Solutions
EMERYVILLE, Calif. – September 20, 2006 – Sendmail, Inc., the leading provider of enterprise solutions for secure, dependable and compliant messaging, today announced that Donald J. Massaro has joined the company as president and chief executive officer. In his new position, Mr. Massaro is responsible for strategic planning and execution, and corporate leadership to establish Sendmail as a market leader in the emerging content security market.
“Don is a rare breed of CEO,” said William Harding, lead investor and Managing Director of Morgan Stanley Venture Partners. “As a Silicon Valley veteran, Don's experience and proven track record of building companies in fast-growing, emerging markets will be invaluable to Sendmail. We are excited to have him drive Sendmail’s next generation of secure messaging and compliance solutions."
Mr. Massaro brings to Sendmail more than 30 years of success building and managing both public and privately-held technology companies. Most recently, he held the position of CEO and co-founder at Reconnex Corporation, a provider of content-monitoring security appliances.
“Most of the world’s complex messaging infrastructures in operation today rely on Sendmail products and services,” said Massaro. “I am excited to join Sendmail at a time when these companies are beginning to experience more complex security and compliance issues in order to protect the content that is both entering and exiting their organizations. Mr. Massaro began his career at Shugart Associates, where as founder and CEO created the low cost disk drive market, initially with the floppy disk drive and then with the low cost hard disk drive. Xerox acquired Shugart Associates in 1978. In 1979 Mr. Massaro was appointed President of the Office Products Division of Xerox with the charter of making Xerox the leader in the emerging Office Automation Market. As head of the Office Products Division (XOPD), he created a business unit to develop and market products based on the technologies developed at Xerox’s famed Palo Alto Research Center (PARC). In 1981 XOPD announced Ethernet and the Star Information System that incorporated and introduced the world to a number of office technologies that have become standards: Ethernet, the Iconic Desktop, Client-Server Architecture, Electronic Printing, etc.
After Xerox, Mr. Massaro was a founder (1982) and CEO of Metaphor Computer System, which developed and marketed high-end client-server data-interpretation system to large corporations, primarily in consumer packaged goods. IBM acquired metaphor in 1991. He was also CEO of Silicon Gaming (SGIC), a company that developed an advanced multimedia gaming platform for the Casino Industry, MainStreet Networks and Array Networks.
Mr. Massaro graduated from the University of Notre Dame with a Bachelor of Science degree in Aeronautical Engineering. He received a Master of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering from Northwestern University and was a PhD candidate at the University of California at Berkeley.

Chris joined Granite Ventures in September 1998 from Hambrecht & Quist, where he was an analyst in the firm’s Venture Capital department. Chris focuses on software, internet and digital media investments.
Chris serves on the Board of Directors for Arcot Systems, Managing Editor Software and Purisma. He is a Board observer for Actional, Convio, and Sendmail, and was previously involved with the Boards of Connected (acquired by Iron Mountain) and Cardiff (acquired by Verity).

Peter-D. Chung
Peter Chung, a managing member of Morgan Stanley Venture Partners funds, joined Morgan Stanley in 1993 in the Technology Corporate Finance Department and helped open Morgan Stanley’s first Silicon Valley office in Menlo Park in 1994. He focuses on technology investments. In addition to his service at SOMA Networks, Peter also currently serves as a director of Perceptive Software, iRise and Tarari, and is involved with the following Morgan Stanley portfolio companies: Avamar, Chemconnect, CORE Security, Counterpane, Freightquote, LoopNet, Novalux and Sendmail. Peter is a graduate of Dartmouth College and the Stanford Graduate School of Business.
