Josh Hug, President & Co-Founder
Chairman, President & Co-Founder
Josh Hug most recently served as Director of Devices at RealNetworks. At RealNetworks Josh helped create two businesses within the company. He was the initial member of a team created to explore RealNetworks strategy in the music device space. Josh was instrumental in developing RealNetworks’ vision, building a large diverse team and finally in creating a world-class product. Previous to the device initiative, Josh was RealNetworks’ Development Manager for DRM and Embedded Applications. Josh was selected to an initial team of 3 engineers tasked with building a DRM and eventually ran the DRM development group. Along the way he lead integration with another company that Real acquired. Josh’s other notable accomplishments include being RealNetworks’ representative for OMA DRM 2.0 standardization effort and delegate to the CMLA. Josh has a bachelor’s degree from Whitworth College where he double-majored in Computer Science and Mathematics.
Kevin Beukelman, Chief Architect & Co-Founder
Kevin Beukelman most recently served as designer and engineer for a music customization platform with RealNetworks. As a part of this endeavor he also worked on a team redesigning the data access system and strategy for several key initiatives and applications within the company. Prior to this Kevin was a consultant with Accenture in the Communications and High Tech practice, spending most of his project time with Microsoft. There he helped plan, architect, design and build a heavily-trafficked internet portal and content management system for the Microsoft Partner Program as a development team lead. He also helped to develop the Xbox reverse logistics system within Microsoft Operations IT. Kevin has a bachelor’s degree in Computer Science from Western Washington University.
Dave Hanley, Vice President of Marketing
Dave Hanley has been working in web media for years, most recently as director of product management at RealNetworks. He oversaw product management for Rhapsody.com and Rhapsody’s web services program. Dave specializes in creating and marketing massively popular media web properties and loves applying his talents to the book world. Dave spent a half a decade working in economic development, helping NGOs and banks in Asia and Latin America implement and assess microcredit programs. This included a stint as a Fulbright scholar with Grameen Bank in Bangladesh. Dave has an MBA from Stanford and Bachelors and Masters degrees in Public Policy from Brigham Young University.
Kevin Durdle, Lead Software Engineering
Kevin Durdle most recently served as the primary software design engineer behind Microsoft’s upcoming Windows Live Mobile Messenger client for Windows Mobile devices. After shipping version 1, Pocket MSN, he was tasked with re-architecting the Messenger client for mobile device to allow for an all new and innovative instant messaging experience on Smart phones and Pocket PC’s. Mr. Durdle has a master’s degree in Software Engineering from the University of Western Ontario, with a focus on Digital Ink Abstractions.
Timothy Gray, Director of Design
Tim has designed and built web sites and applications for a variety of corporations and organizations over the past ten years. Most recently he worked as an independent consultant in the Atlanta area, helping improve the web presence of clients such as The American Red Cross, U.S. Surgeon General, PGA, PGA Tour, NASCAR and the NBA. Tim has a bachelor’s degree in Graphic Design from Bob Jones University. When he’s not working, Tim enjoys hiking, photography, gadgetry and video gaming.
Mark Willamson, Co-Founder
Mark Williamson is currently employed by Dash Navigation, a Silicon Valley start-up. Prior to his current role, Mark was the Director of Product Management & Marketing in RealNetwork’s Digital Music group where he focused on developing portable music solutions. His main area of expertise is strategic marketing and product strategy. Mark has an MBA from the MIT Sloan School of Management and a Bachelors Degree in Engineering from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign.
