We think spin is an epidemic. We have tremendous respect for great journalism, but, sadly, it’s in short supply. When the majority of Americans think the press is “one-sided,” yet only 9% of journalists think declining credibility is a major concern, you know something is broken.

We’d like to de-spin the news, expose the slant and bias, separate the facts from axe-grinding opinion. And we’d like your help, because spin-spotting takes a volunteer army. Democracy runs smoother when we get the stories straight and the facts right (the founding fathers certainly thought so).

This is a mission we approach with idealism, humility, and a degree of trepidation. We have no desire to “take on” journalists or join the mudslinging. We simply want to bring transparency and fairness to the press, and have fun doing it. After all, why do you think we call them “Spinoculars?”
