Most business software is more complicated than it needs to be. On the other hand, when you email 10 colleagues with an attachment called sales_target_2007_v12_final_my_comments.xls, you know that collaboration by e-mail doesn’t really work either. We think there is a better way: concentrate on simple and effective sharing of information.
The wiki model is a good solution to this problem: shared, versioned, hyperlinked online documents in the form of an editable website. But online text documents are not enough: you need to store and analyze structured information too. With Swirrl we aim to combine the power of a database and the flexibility of spreadsheets with the features potential of a wiki.
