Management
Adrian Tuck, CEO
Adrian has more than 20 years of executive management and leadership experience. As CEO, he focuses on expanding Tendril’s customer base through multiple sales and marketing channels, including alliances with leading companies in the ZigBee network industry, where he serves as vice-chair. Prior to Tendril, Adrian served as both Interim CEO and Executive Vice President of Ember Corporation, where he guided the company’s market strategy through its critical early-growth stage. Under Adrian’s management, Ember became the leader in the embedded wireless field, where it currently holds a dominant market share. Earlier, Adrian was President of U.S. Operations and Vice President of Marketing for Soft-ex, a call accounting software manufacturer that he successfully helped reposition as a high-end enterprise software and services company. Adrian also served as Vice President of Business Development and Marketing at Connect Communications Group. He was educated at the Royal Military Academy Sandhurst, the British Army’s prestigious officer training academy, where he graduated near the top of his class.
Tim Enwall, President & COO
Tim has 18 years of high-tech business management experience. Most recently, he was Vice President and Research Area Director at Gartner, Inc. Prior to Gartner, Tim launched a successful entrepreneurial career founding and serving as Chairman of emerging technology advisory firm Solista, which was acquired by Gartner. He was also the Founder and a Board Member of Intellocity, an interactive television system software development firm which is now part of OpenTV, the world’s leading interactive TV system software supplier. Tim has held numerous emerging technology management roles at larger companies Apple Computer and Lockheed Martin and smaller entities including InfoNow and Requisite Technology, where he was involved in product development, customer support, business development, marketing and general management. Tim currently sits on the Board of Directors of SkyeTek, an RFID as a feature company. He holds a B.S. in Electrical Engineering and Computer Science from the University of California at Berkeley.
Andy Wheeler, CTO
Andy brings more than a decade of wireless systems experience to Tendril. As CTO, Wheeler is in charge of directing Tendril’s innovation and product development strategy. Previously, he co-founded Ember Corporation, the leading provider of ZigBee network software and system-on-chip devices. Under his leadership, the engineering team grew internationally and delivered multiple industry firsts, including the first shipping ZigBee single-chip device. Prior to starting Ember, he developed RFID car access systems for Zipcar. His embedded systems background includes system design, component design and embedded software for Walt Disney Imagineering and Woodward McCoach, Inc., and experience designing and deploying large-scale sensor networks under a DARPA grant at the MIT Media Lab. Andy holds a B.S. and M.Eng in Electrical Engineering and Computer Science from MIT.
Mark Pougnet, CFO
Mark has more than 25 years of experience in the financial and technology industries. As CFO, he will be responsible for driving the day-to-day financial operations and strategic funding initiatives for the company. Prior to joining Tendril, Pougnet held executive financial positions at several companies in diverse technology industries, including Copan Systems, MPC Computers and Avaya. He has led multiple highly successful funding rounds and IPOs and has developed lasting relationships with key members of the financial community. Pougnet holds a master’s degree in accounting and a bachelor’s degree in commerce from the University of Natal in South Africa, and is a Certified Public Accountant.

Chris Onan
Chris is a Principal with Appian Ventures, a venture capital firm based in Denver, Colorado. Prior to joining Appian, Chris spent five years with two Colorado venture capital firms where he had the privilege of working with companies such as: Broadbus Technologies, Federation Software, and NextAction. Chris currently sits on the board of Tendril, the Colorado Venture Capital Association, and the Denver Software Club. Before entering the venture industry, Chris was an associate consultant with LEK Consulting, an international strategy consulting boutique. Chris received a B.A. in Economics from Northwestern University, where he graduated Phi Beta Kappa.
Frank Mendicino
Frank is a co-founder and Managing Director of Access Venture Partners, an early stage, high technology venture capital fund. Frank has 15 years of experience in venture capital which includes successfully investing in, growing and exiting growth companies. Frank was a founding board member of The Contra Costa County Incubator in San Francisco. He is currently a Colorado Venture Capital Association Board Member. Frank has a deep understanding of product development and sales and marketing processes which allows him to accelerate the growth of the companies in which Access Venture Partners invests. Prior to co-founding Access Venture Partners, he worked for Woodside Fund, a Silicon Valley venture fund, where for 10 years he helped build and exit a successful portfolio of 29 early stage companies. Frank is on the Board of Directors of several private companies. He received his B.A. in Political Science from The University of California at Berkeley.
Catharine Merigold
Catharine is a General Partner with Denver-based Vista Ventures. She has worked with communications and information technology companies for twenty years, as an investor, as a board member and advisor, and as an entrepreneur. Catharine started her venture career in 1992 with Centennial Ventures, the largest venture firm in the Rocky Mountain region. She was the founding CEO of a venture-backed company, a vice president at a Fortune 100 telecommunications company, and CEO of UTC, the company that manages all the technology developed at the four University of Colorado campuses. Catharine received her B.S. in Electrical Engineering from Washington University in St. Louis and an M.B.A. from Stanford University.
