We were working on another project and got to the point where our testing needs began to outgrow the Excel sheets we had set up to manage them. We were quite familiar with the dominant tools in the market such as Mercury TestDirector and Rational Manual Tester, but we weren't happy with the level of support those tools had for the everyday manual UI kind of testing we needed to do. We were also running a little low on cash (like so many other startups) and couldn't afford the software and hardware required to run those products.
After looking at several solutions we realized there might be an opportunity right there. A testing management tool specifically targeted at small QA teams and mISVs like us that do a lot of manual testing and aren't keen on installing expensive software on expensive servers.«Less
