Threadbox began in November 2008 when founders Michael Cerda and Ben Dean recognized an opportunity to make collaboration as easy as email and instant messaging, yet as comprehensive as a traditional collaboration service. The end result would improve productivity for small workgroup communication and collaboration.

Threadbox initially launched as Cc:Betty at DEMO Spring 2009, and from there grew, nurtured and iterated the platform with a beta customer base throughout 2009.
