There is a need for a visual search engine that can take a source image, analyze it, and bring us all requested information (including similar photos) which can be found in the relevant data bases or on the web.
This will allow not only to search for any image, but will also enable machines (computers and cellular phones) – given a reference database of images – to actually understand what they see (by comparing it against the reference database), and then act upon such understanding, in ways that are only limited by our imagination.
Vayar Vision develops just such visual search engine.
