Vyatta was created to bring commercial-quality open source networking products to market. We believe that open source has created a profound change in the market place, shifting the balance of power from large corporations back to the users of products. Simply, open source is about cost savings, increased flexibility and choice, and better security. At Vyatta, we're trying to bring those qualities to the world of network infrastructure products. Vyatta was founded by a fusion of veterans of the networking community. Unlike many companies, the founding members have an eclectic mix of networking equipment and networking operator backgrounds. Our chairman of the board, Allan, was recruited to Cisco Systems when the company was just about 100 employees in size. Others of us have built and operated world-wide networks.
