Vyyo (Nasdaq: VYYO) is a leading global supplier of broadband fixed wireless systems used by telecommunications service providers to deliver high-speed data connections to business and residential subscribers in the last mile. The technology uses point-to-multipoint architecture based on IP, which is the networking standard used to deliver voice and data over the Internet. Vyyo’s systems operate in several frequencies including MMDS, LMDS, 3.5 GHz, 10.5 GHz, UHF, and unlicensed bands. Vyyo’s broadband fixed wireless systems consist of wireless hubs located in base stations and wireless modems that connect to subscribers’ PCs or LANs. Vyyo’s hubs send and receive data at rates faster than T-1 speeds to thousands of residential subscribers within a 25-mile radius. For service providers with LMDS frequencies, Vyyo’s LMDS system (10-38 GHz) provides a cost-effective solution for business and residential subscribers within a three-mile radius.
