Management

Tom Shields, CEO

Mr. Shields brings over ten years of experience in software development and Internet technology to the team. Prior to joining Woodside, he was an investor and advisor to startup technology companies, working closely with entrepreneurs on technology assessment, market positioning, and recruiting.

In 1995, Mr. Shields co-founded NetGravity which became the leading provider of application software for Internet advertising. As VP of Engineering, then CTO, Mr. Shields was responsible for NetGravity's development team and architecture, producing mission-critical real-time enterprise software that was successfully deployed at over 300 customer network operations centers. NetGravity went public in 1998, and was then acquired by rival DoubleClick. During this period, Mr. Shields chaired Internet advertising industry standards committees and authored several technical standards.

Prior to NetGravity, Mr. Shields was a development manager at Oracle for nearly four years, and was a member of two technology startups. He received a BA in Computer Science with honors from Harvard College.

Doug Cosman, Founder

Doug is the inventor of the Yieldex technology, and founder of the company. He is a senior data architect and developer, and a frequent presenter at Oracle conferences and the University of Colorado.

At Matchlogic and later Excite, Doug was instrumental in the creation of an ad management system that had features far ahead of its time. With 12 billion monthly impressions, the Excite system was architected for scale. Doug has built upon this experience and his prior experiences in database marketing and portfolio optimization to create Yieldex.
