Doron Gerstel, President/CEO/Founder
Doron is the co-founder of Zend Technologies where he served as CEO since its inception in 1999. He succeeded in building Zend, a California-based company, into the market leader for the creation of modern Open Source Web applications with 20,000 customers worldwide. He was recently appointed President, Syneron Medical Ltd. an innovator in the development, marketing and sales of elos combined-energy medical aesthetic devices.
Prior to his founding of Zend, Doron was Chief Operating Officer for Lumenis (formerly ESC Medical Systems) where he was responsible for worldwide operations in production, engineering, IT, service and support, procurement, logistics and QA/QC. He held a number of senior management positions at Fibronics (acquired by Elbit) and at US Healthcare, Inc.
Doron serves on the advisory board of Fritz, Inc. (acquired by UPS), the third largest logistics provider in the US.
Doron holds a Bachelor of Science in Economics and Information Systems from the Technion, and a MBA from Tel Aviv University.

Veteran Executive Steven Springsteel Joins Zend Board of Directors
Seasoned Executive Brings Extensive Track Record of Business and Financial Results to Leading Open Source Company
CUPERTINO, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Zend, the PHP Company, today announced that Steven Springsteel has been appointed to its Board of Directors. Springsteel has two decades of experience leading publicly traded technology companies. He will help guide Zend’s exceptional growth with a focus on streamlining operations and maximizing profitability.

We conducted an extensive search and Steve stood out as an exceptional candidate given his strong operational and financial experience,” said Zend CEO, Harold Goldberg.
Springsteel is currently Chairman, president and CEO of Chordiant Software, Inc. (NASDAQ: CHRD). He brings over 20 years of high tech management experience to the Zend Board of Directors, including management of two successful IPO’s and several mergers and acquisitions. Before Chordiant, Springsteel was president and CFO at Verity (NASDAQ: VRTY) where he led the company to profitability and guided the sale of the company to Autonomy.

Danny Rimer
Danny Rimer joined Index Ventures in 2002 as the Partner responsible for establishing the firm's London office and expanding the firm's presence in Northern Europe. His investment interests include enterprise infrastructure, applications and services. He currently serves on the boards of KVS, MediaSurface, MySQL, Skype, Video Island and Zend, and is an observer on Betfair. Prior to joining Index, Danny was a general partner of The Barksdale Group, where he invested in a dozen companies including CrossGain (now BEA), myCFO (now Bank of Montreal), Neoteris (now NetScreen/Juniper), Ofoto (now Kodak) and TellMe. Prior to joining The Barksdale Group, Danny was Managing Director in Hambrecht & Quist's (now JP Morgan) Equity Research Group. At H&Q, Danny was the underwriting analyst for companies including Amazon, CheckPoint, CNET, Netscape, and Verisign. He also sponsored direct investments in over 20 companies. He holds an A.B from Harvard College.
Noga Kap
A General Partner at Walden Israel, Noga Kap brings Zend more than twenty years of management experience in the high technology industry. Most recently, she founded the first European subsidiary for MINT Technologies, a leading provider of intelligent middleware solutions for application integration in the financial services industry. Noga led the company from a niche player to a leader in the EAI market to its acquisition by SunGard Data Systems, Inc. (NYSE: SDS). Prior to MINT, she held several positions in Israel and abroad as Operations Manager in Telecom service companies, including Consortium International and Koor. Noga additionally serves on the board of SintecMedia and Dinox Inc.
Noga holds a B.A. in economics and psychology from Tel Aviv University and an M.B.A. from Washington University in Seattle, Washington.
