Alex Kazerani
Alex is a proven web entrepreneur, having led and sold multiple successful startups. Prior to co-founding EdgeCast, he was a co-founder, chairman and CEO of KnowledgeBase. A hosted enterprise knowledge management company with many fortune 1000 customers. At KnowledgeBase he worked with co-founders James, Phil and Lior, and as CEO was involved in all aspects of the company and responsible for its development.
Prior to starting KnowledgeBase, Alex founded HostPro, an industry-leading web hosting and application services provider. In August 1999, Micron Electronics (MUEI) acquired HostPro, and Alex became vice president of operations. In this role, Alex was responsible for developing HostPro's shared, dedicated and managed businesses with 430 employees in sales, marketing, engineering, and product development. Alex was instrumental in helping HostPro grow into one of the largest web hosting companies in the industry, with over 70,000 customers worldwide and operations in Los Angeles, California; Seattle, Washington; Boise, Idaho, and Boca Raton, Florida.
With over twelve years of leadership experience in information technology and business operations, Alex has successfully led a number of businesses initiatives that include developing technology solutions and bringing them to market, designing front and back office operations and managing day-to-day business, sales and support operations. Additionally, he has extensive application development, web hosting, and data center build-out and management experience.
In addition to his leadership position with EdgeCast, Alex is a partner in several venture capital funds, and a board member of numerous companies including Web.com (NASDAQ: WWWW). Alex earned a B.A. degree in international relations and economics from Tufts University. He currently resides in Los Angeles.
