Amal Johnson
As Chief Executive Officer, Amal brings to her position over 20 years of management and operational experience with technology and services companies. She understands intimately the challenges and responsibilities of running and growing a business, as well as the rewards that can come from building a company of enduring value.
Prior to joining MarketTools, Amal was a Venture Partner with Velocity Interactive Group, a communications venture capital firm. In her role at Velocity Interactive Group, Amal worked closely with the firm's portfolio companies, providing strategic guidance. Prior to Velocity Interactive Group, she was a founding partner of Lightspeed Venture Partners. During her five-year tenure with the firm, she focused primarily on enterprise software and infrastructure investments.
Before Lightspeed, Amal served as President of Baan Supply Chain Solutions, and as President of Baan Affiliates and Baan Americas successfully guiding Baan through its initial public offering and from $60 million to $800 million in annual revenue. She also held the role of President of ASK Manufacturing Systems, and held various executive positions with IBM.
Ms. Johnson holds a BA in Mathematics and Physics from Montclair College, and completed graduate work in computer science at the Stevens Institute of Technology.
