Brian Dougherty
A serial Silicon Valley entrepreneur (GeoWorks, Wink Communications, Imagic), Brian is best known for Geoworks, an innovative software company that achieved a public market value of $1.3 billion.
Prior to founding AirSet, Brian was the founder and CEO at Wink Communications, one of the first systems to deliver on the promise of interactive television with over 10 million cable and satellite set-top boxes running Wink's interactive client. Wink achieved a public market value of $1.4 billion before being sold to Liberty Media in 2002.
Prior to founding Wink, Brian was the founder and CEO at Geoworks. Geoworks developed a superior graphical operating system and applications for the Apple II, Commodore 64, IBM PCs, PDAs, and mobile phones, specifically Nokia's first Smart phone. Additionally, Geoworks was one of the pioneers that collaborated with Palm Computing and developed the system software for the Tandy/Casio Zoomer and Hewlett-Packard OmniGo, fore runners of the Palm Pilot. Brian also drove a seed investment in America Online, and Geoworks developed the original graphical PC client for AOL.
Prior to founding Geoworks, Brian was the founder and Vice President of Engineering at Imagic, a video game company that went from $0 to $80 million in 18 months.
Before launching Imagic, Brian interned at Atari the year the VCS 2600 was launched. He came up with the idea of AirSet during his sabbatical years when he realized he needed a program to synchronize his family's busy schedule with his own, which involved managing his sons' little league teams. Now he and his family (and hundreds of thousands of others) use AirSet to manage their lives, which in Brian's case includes sitting on the boards of several public and private technology companies and going to little league games.
