Carlos Melcer
Mr. Melcer received his degree in Economics with a minor in Rhetoric from UC Berkeley. Mr. Melcer is seasoned in international finance, having successfully raised over $2.5 billion of debt and equity for projects in the U.S. and Latin America. His participation in structuring and implementing some of the most sophisticated financings in the region positions him as an influential force in global project and structured finance. In 1996, after six years as Director of the International Division of a subsidiary of Hong Kong and Shanghai Banking Corp (Public Financial Management), Mr. Melcer became part of a group of entrepreneurs that executed the first attempt to develop a Cooperative Commerce Platform for business-to-business commerce using the internet; the company was successfully capitalized, developed, and sold to VerticalNet in 1998. In 1998 Mr. Melcer and his partners founded CIMA Capital, a merchant banking operation focused on value-added financial product distribution for middle markets; they also founded CIMA Ventures, an Angel fund to invest in B2B enabling technology companies. Through his role as Senior Managing Director at CIMA, Mr Melcer has established himself as a seasoned expert in international finance. He joined intouch group, inc. in 2006.
