Before founding XMOS, Davidwas Head of Computer Science at University of Bristol, previous to thathe spent 16 years in the semiconductor industry at Inmos and then STMicroelectronics. David was the architect of the Transputer and theauthor of the OCCAM language. David has 33 granted patents and manypending patents centered around microprocessor technology. In 1990David was elected a Fellow of the Royal Society for his contributionsto computer architecture and parallel computing. He is on the technicaladvisory boards of several semiconductor companies.
