David Brock
David is a Founder of Hangout Industries and serves as its Chief Science Officer. Dr. Brock is Principal Research Scientist at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. He is the Founder and Director of the new MIT Data Center, as well as the co-Founder and former Director of the Auto-ID Center (now EPCglobal, Inc. and Auto-ID Laboratories). The Auto-ID Center developed the technologies, standards, and languages to link physical objects to the global Internet. The Center was an international research consortium formed as a partnership among more than 100 global companies and five leading research universities. David was also Founder and Chief Technical Officer of endoVia Medical, Inc., a manufacturer of computer controlled surgical and interventional devices. Dr. Brock holds Bachelors degrees in Theoretical Mathematics and Mechanical Engineering, as well as Masters and Ph.D. Degrees from MIT.
