Mr. Siegel has commercial aviation experience spanning more than two decades including serving as the president and chief executive officer of US Airways and in senior executive roles at Northwest Airlines and Continental Airlines. Most recently, Mr. Siegel was chairman and chief executive officer of Gate Gourmet Group, Inc., the world’s largest independent airline catering, hospitality and logistics company with dual headquarters in Zurich, Switzerland, and Reston, Virgina, U.S.A. Under his leadership, Gate Gourmet successfully tripled enterprise value while building a best-in-class portfolio of in-flight products and services with more than 30,000 employees in over 25 countries.

Prior to Gate Gourmet Group, Mr. Siegel served as president, chief executive and member of the board of US Airways Group, Inc., and US Airways, Inc., the airline operating unit. During his tenure at the airline he led the company through a significant transformation that helped position the airline for profitability and growth. Prior to joining US Airways, Mr. Siegel was chairman and chief executive officer of Avis Rent A Car System, Inc., a subsidiary of Cendant Corp.

Mr. Siegel’s extensive experience in the airline industry includes seven years at Continental Airlines in various senior management roles, including president of its Continental Express subsidiary, where he negotiated the largest aircraft order in the regional airline industry as the launch customer for 275 Embraer 145/135 regional jets.

Mr. Siegel holds a master’s degree in business administration from Harvard Business School and a bachelor of science degree, magna cum laude, in applied mathematics-economics from Brown University.
