Jan Bouten

Jan Bouten joined The Aurora Funds in 2003, which focuses on sourcing and evaluating new investment opportunities within the IT industry. He is on the board of Nextreme and Visitar, and acts as an observer for Recordant, Centice and WorldCell. In addition, he serves as an adjunct associate professor at Duke University's Pratt School of Engineering and speaks at Duke MBA events and NC State's School of Management.
Previously Bouten worked in sales, engineering and international business development at Larscom, and was part of the core team that successfully built the European presence of this telecommunication equipment manufacturer. He led technical support for K-NET R&D, a video conferencing manufacturer. He began his career at Madge Networks, a leading enterprise networking manufacturer.

Bouten holds a B.S. in software engineering from Fontys University in Holland, an M.S.c in human-computer systems from DeMontfort University in the U.K., and an M.B.A from Duke University.
