John Levinson

John Levinson is the founder and CEO of Westway Capital LLC, a private equity and strategic advisory firm. He has over 25 years experience as an analyst, hedge fund manager, research director, private investor and strategic advisor to technology-based companies.

His career began with 13 years at Goldman, Sachs & Co., where he was Senior Securities Analyst responsible for various hardware, software and services companies. Among other accolades, Institutional Investor Magazine named John to its "All American Research Team" for eight years. For five consecutive years, he was rated number one in his area.

John began his money management career with Lynch & Mayer as a large cap fund manager. In 1994, he created TechVantage, a hedge fund that pioneered the strategy of investing in both information technology companies and in companies from other industries that creatively use technology to improve their competitive position. TechVantage assets grew to $900 Million by 2000, with $70 Million invested in private companies. In 2002, John began formally consulting to information technology companies and focusing on investing in private technology companies. For the years 2004 and 2005, John worked for Andor Capital Management, a large technology-focused hedge fund, most recently as Director of Research of its 20 person research staff.

John holds a Chemistry degree from Lafayette College and an MBA from Carnegie-Mellon University's Tepper School of Business.
