Joseph Chan
Joseph founded and jointly funded Rubysophic in Feb. 2008 after serving as a Software Executive in IBM for 2 years. He co-founded Cyanea Systems Corp. and was the CTO. He created the flagship product Cyanea/One V1 and V2, producing the first J2EE application performance diagnostic product in the market that runs across from mid-tier platforms to the mainframe platform, supporting WebSphere, Weblogic, CICS and IMS application servers. As a result, IBM was one of the initial investors of Cyanea and eventually acquired Cyanea in 2.5 years, giving its investors a highly profitable return in a short period.
Prior to Cyanea, Joseph was the CTO of B2SB.com specialized in building small business websites, VP of Engineering of PlanetRx.com, an online pharmacy with a distribution center, a Director in Charles Schwab responsible for the scaling up of its web based transaction tier during 1997 – 1999 using parallel systems infrastructure coupled with data replication through messaging. Charles Schwas was the poster child of IBM in its e-commerce customer portfolio.
He graduated with a Master degree in Computer Science from the University of Aston in England, and is a Member of the British Computer Society. He has 3 software patents.
