Matt was a physics and computer science student at the University of Akron until, much to his parents' chagrin, he decided to pursue a career in poker. It worked out well though. He played professionally for five years, largely online, and wrote both a popular blog and a bestselling book on the topic before making the jump to the comparably sane world of startups.

Over the last few years, Matt parlayed the notoriety he gained from his writing into a successful business, Rakesucks LLC, which has provided marketing services to online poker rooms through affiliate programs. One of the largest affiliates on the net before the UIGEA caused many sites to withdraw from the American market, he generated millions of dollars in revenue for the poker rooms, which inspired him to get into the gaming business full time.

He does everything but program for the team, but his primary passion is using his knowledge of the industry, gained from 10 years of involvement on both sides, to acquire and retain customers.
