Mike Appe

Mike's professional career has spanned positions from systems development to telecommunications to sales and marketing. His background includes positions with a British insurance company, a PC hardware manufacturer, a telecommunications services organization, and Microsoft Corporation. At Microsoft, Mr. Appe was originally hired in 1987 as the General Manager responsible for the Eastern U.S. sales and marketing team. He moved to Seattle in 1992 and became General Manager of their Inside Sales and Support organization. Later that year he was promoted to Vice-President of U. S. Sales and Support Operations. His last six months at Microsoft, Mr. Appe was responsible for worldwide end users sales and strategy. Mr. Appe retired from Microsoft in 1994 and returned to his home in the Boston, MA area. Since that time, he has remained active in a number of endeavors including serving on the boards of a number of start-up companies and working with local charities.

Mr. Appe is currently a board member of VLM UK Limited, a leading digital print provider with unique web-based solutions headquartered in Manchester, England. His charity work has included serving on the Board of Brewster Academy, a private secondary school in Wolfeboro; as Vice-President and board member of the Wright Museum, a World War II home front museum; and as finance trustee for the Wolfeboro Area Children’s Center. Mike has a B.S. in Mathematics, with minors in Physics and Economics from the University of Vermont. Mr. Appe and his wife, Irene, currently live in Wolfeboro, NH where they own a home on Lake Winnipesaukee.
