Mike Maples
Often described as a statesman of the computer industry, Mike Maples' distinguished career includes serving as executive vice president of Microsoft's Worldwide Products Group and member of the Office of the President, reporting to Bill Gates. He currently holds the position of Microsoft Ambassador; in this capacity, he advises the corporation on strategic relationships and management initiatives.
Mr. Maples has been active in the computer industry for more than 30 years. Prior to joining Microsoft, he served as director of software strategy at IBM. He is currently on the boards of J. D. Edwards & Co., Lexmark Corporation, Mission Critical Software, Motive Communications, Alibre, and Concero (formerly PSW Technologies). Mr. Maples is also very active in professional associations, having served on the boards of the Information Technology Association of America (ITAA) and the American Software Association, and currently serves on the board of several educational institutions, including the engineering colleges of the University of Texas and University of Oklahoma.
