Peter Kelley
Peter has created successful issue campaigns for public interest causes in Washington since 1990. He co-built the press shop at National Environmental Trust, winning 21 straight issue campaigns and representing NET at the global warming treaty talks in Kyoto, Japan. He launched the River Agenda and a movement-wide website for American Rivers, as its Vice President for Communications and Marketing. He is experienced in environmental politics, having served as Communications Director of the League of Conservation Voters, and of Environment2004 during that year's presidential race.
Peter represents the National Environmental Education Foundation, and was communications coach for the University of Maryland's 2007 solar decathlon team, which finished 1st out of 20 in the communications category. He is one of 1,000 Americans trained by Al Gore to deliver his presentation on global warming from An Inconvenient Truth.
Peter holds a BA in Government from Harvard College, and spent 13 years in journalism, including a posting at the Newhouse Newspapers bureau in Washington where he won awards for investigative journalism. He was the founding director of the National Security News Service. He lives in College Park, Md., with his wife, Leah Wolfe, and son Miles.
