Rok has a proven record of turning computing technology into products. While teaching computer science at Griffith University in Australia, he founded Active Tools to develop and commercialize a scalable, distributed resource management software. This software became one of the first large deployments of grid computing technology on Wall Street. After TurboLinux acquired Active Tools, Rok served as the CTO of TurboLinux, where he led the development of grid computing and network management products. He has published numerous academic papers and holds two US patents. Rok was a former junior competitive cyclist and a national Rubik's Cube champion in his native Slovenia. He received his Ph.D. in Computer Science from the University of Utah.
