Shyamal Roy
Dr. Roy comes to the council with more than 15 years of experience in the areas of design, development, procurement and implementation of supply chain solutions in the hi-tech, retail and the automotive industries. His areas of expertise include supply chain strategy and solutions development, business process reengineering, six sigma, and logistics modeling. Dr. Roy most recently worked for FedEx Supply Chain Services as managing director, Engineering where he and his team were responsible for continuous improvement, resource optimization, quality control, project management, industrial engineering and network optimization. Dr. Roy also worked for Ryder Integrated Logistics as Senior Manager, Logistics Engineering where he was instrumental in growing their Western region by 300 percent over a two year period. He joined Ryder as Manager, Logistics Planning Systems during which time he improved their customer satisfaction index from 1.5 to 4.5 (out of 5) over a six-month period. Dr. Roy holds a Ph.D. in Operations Research, Case Western Reserve University, Cleveland, Ohio.
