\n\t\t\tBiodel has developed several therapeutic candidates for the treatment of diabetes and osteoporosis. All of Biodel\'s products were discovered in-house using Biodel\'s proprietary VIAdel\u2122 technology, which reformulates existing, FDA approved peptide drugs. Biodel\'s lead product is VIAject\u2122. VIAject\u2122 is a rapid-acting injectable meal-time insulin. Based on our clinical trial data to date, we believe that VIAject\u2122 delivers insulin into the bloodstream faster than currently approved meal-time insulins including the rapid acting insulin analog Humalog\xae, which is the market leader. VIAject\u2122 is currently being tested in two Phase III clinical trials, which are expected to be completed by the end of 2007. Biodel is also conducting a Phase I clinical trial evaluating VIAtab\u2122, an oral (sublingual) tablet formulation of insulin.«Less
