Founded in 2000 as a spin-out from the Center for Biologic Nanotechnology at the University of Michigan, NanoBio\u2019s lead product candidates target treatments for herpes labialis (cold sores), onychomycosis (nail fungus) and mucosal vaccines for Hepatitis B and Influenza.
Through early 2006, a total of $31 million was invested in the company\'s NanoStat\u2122 technology platform through grants and angel investments. In August 2006, NanoBio secured an additional $30 million in private equity funding from Perseus, LLC. This equity funding has enabled extensive studies supporting the expansion of the company\u2019s anti-infective and mucosal vaccine programs."
